The Carolinas Center (TCC) is the leading voice for quality end of life care in the Carolinas, representing an extensive number of hospice and palliative care providers in North and South Carolina. Since 1977, TCC has provided visionary leadership, pertinent education, technical assistance, advocacy, and resources to end of life care providers across the two states.
On behalf of diverse populations, perspectives, and preferences at end of life, TCC pursues strong partnerships across the two states, and beyond. Collaboratively, we seek to promote understanding and effect positive changes across the healthcare system in order to strengthen end of life care. Our progressive educational programs and services include the award-winning monthly audio series known as Breakfast for Brainiacs and the distribution of several electronic newsletters.
TCC engages its members through the utilization of listservs, member interest groups and working committees, thereby ensuring that the work it does includes the many and various voices of those it represents. Most recently, TCC created the Palliative Care Provider Network to support efforts of non-hospice palliative care providers in the Carolinas. TCC endorses the maxim that “Change happens at the speed of trust,” thereby promoting fundamental values of trust, integrity, accountability, and performance excellence. The Center staff and board work hard to empower hospice and palliative care providers, and facilitate system transformation, in order that excellent services are consistently provided to people and families who live with advanced illness.
