Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care is a community-based pioneer in end-of-life care. We have been providing care for patients and their families in Caldwell, Alexander, Ashe, Avery, Burke, Catawba, Watauga, and Wilkes counties for more than 30 years. In 1989, we opened the state’s first in-patient unit in Lenoir, and we continue to expand and adapt our services to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the terminally ill and those who love them.

Today, we provide care in the home, long-term care facilities, hospitals and two patient care units–the latest opened in 2010. We help improve quality of life for patients with chronic, debilitating illness through AIM: Advanced Illness Management, a palliative care consultative service.

Ashewood Grief and Counseling Services helps patients, families and anyone in the community coping with grief.

A not-for-profit organization, we remain committed to providing care regardless of ability. We are accredited by ACHC, Medicare-certified and licensed by NC.
